In the year 2018

So many dreams still to live...

Of course, 2017 was not just happiness, pleasure and celebration. However, the late year still saw the birth of a show we are proud of, happened to make promising encounters and magical moments with friends so dear to our hearts. So….

So, the year 2018 should unfold its ephemeris with the same proportions of intense joy, deep pain and endless questioning or response. Even if some that mattered so much to us are no longer there to share our upcoming laughter and tears, we will continue, tirelessly, to associate them with our lives. Simply because it isn’t possible to forget.

From one page to another
Admittedly, the activity of "Tahiti, its islands and other ends of the world" has slowed considerably in recent months, but you will not blame us too much I hope: it's for the good cause!

The wishes of “To'u fenua e motu Company”
Indeed, the creation of the stage play "Ned Choquitto or the other Don Quixote" was as time-consuming as energy intensive: the result was well worth the sacrifice. For this year 2018 just hatched, the "To'u Fenua e Motu Company" will continue the performances of "Ned Choquitto", but will also propose a new creation with the same Dylan Tiarii and Maki Teharuru, it will be for the month of October: "Tu'ai or Moana o te hotu pāinu". At the same time, another original work will take shape: "L'Exîlienne" by and with Monak, accompanied in this adventure by the cellist Sophie Peracaula.

From one dream to another
Carried by an idealistic breath, probably a bit naive but so generous and fraternal, exactly half a century ago, our generation invaded the streets with flowers in their hair, on their clothes and in their eyes ... We know, alas, what it has happened to all these dreams. Although  some  social and human steps forward remain such as, pell-mell, the abolition of the death penalty, the right to contraception and abortion, the so-called free radios, etc., etc., etc...

Wherever we look today, we see only suspicion, hatred and violence, censorship, racism and sexism, profit, profitability, financial report and above all, especially: a stench of rampant misery, war, terrorism, rejection of others...

To answer this terrifying and recurring question already asked by Michel Jonasz in the 80s: "Don't you think that it smells of war...?" At the same time, as to express our only true wish for this year, which begins so bad for humanity, we can only give the floor to Julos Beaucarne: "I say that we must love each other. That you have to love wrongly... and through..."

'Ia ora na i te matahiti api 2018.
